Bedtime Story – Leela’s Grasshoppers

bedtime story - Grasshopper

Leela was busy catching grasshoppers with an old tin can. None of her friends was in the town that
afternoon. She felt bored and that’s how she ended up playing alone in the garden.

She has two grasshoppers in her can now.

“That’s enough for today”, she thought and ran to her grandma. Her grandma has just sat down with her favourite book, after tea.

“Grandma Look. I got two grasshoppers! Tomorrow I am going to catch ladybugs”.

“My dear Leela, the grasshopper’s papa and mama will be waiting for her at their home. How sad will they be.”

Leela began to feel a little uneasy thinking about how anxious grasshopper’s family will be now!

“Oh granny, I’m really sorry.”

“You must set them free. Mama grasshopper might have already started crying.”

Leela carefully opened the lid of the tin can and gently placed them on a leaf.

“I’m sorry, both of you. Go home and say my hi to your family. Goodbye”
